I finished a Ready Lift SST 3" lift and had the same problem with the brake line being to tight to mount back to the original location. I came up with a similar solution by creating a drop bracket. Now I have plenty of slack. Thanks for the ideas and lucky I had the material laying around the house.

I have the same rear set up. Do you mind sharing what bolts/nuts/ size that you used. Also how long is your drop bracket? Thanks!

The bracket is 3" long and is the same width as the original bracket. You can go to your local hardware store and find exterior plan hot rolled steel that you can cut. Then you'll need to primer it and paint it. I used a spray paint designed for bumpers, because that area will get rocks and dirty and stuff hitting it. You might find small pieces of steel at the automotive store as well. The thickness is the same as the original bracket. The new bracket doesn't have to be very think, it isn't supporting much weight at all. I've seen in other post some people just leave the bracket off all together. As far as the bolt, I took the original bolt with me to the automotive store and found the same size but as a bolt/nut. You could use a tap and die to thread new holes, but that is more work than is necessary. The length of the bolt is about 1-1/2". Long enough to go through both brackets and for the nut with lockwasher to fit on. In keeping with the rest of the Tacoma the nut is a 10mm.

I secured my brake line today fairly easily. Just cut the sides off one of the old clips. Drilled two holes and tapped one of them. And bought 4” bolts for the leaf. Two nuts later I was finished!

So I have Dakar’s and B110 Bilstiens and I ended up just removing my e-brake cable brackets. When just testing the travel on jacks (not even fully extended) there wasn’t anywhere that would keep the cable in a good position to accommodate the travel that I have. Before cutting them off I drove it for a couple weeks to see if there was any rubbing or wear showing up on the cable but there wasn’t any rubbing against any suspension components I noticed on mine. I wished I had some pictures, but I don’t.

This is not like me to not run a bracket or something like that. I like to keep as much OE parts/systems intact as I can. Especially when it comes to safety items like the parking/e-brake.

To my knowledge you can only get the bracket with the cable since it is installed on the cable before the ends are assembled. It cannot slide off the ends with the cable removed form the truck. RockAuto has the rear section cables for my 2015 for about $35ea. Not sure what year or length you need, but a new cable is your only option for a new bracket unless you fabricate one.

This is correct. I've called the dealer before and there's no individual part number for the brake line retainer. You need to order the whole brake like assembly to get one.

Something like a PTFE aviation wire clamp would work better than what that OP used. I have replaced hundreds of those clamps on hydraulic in my Air Force carrier. The rubber is not made for rubbing like that. I would suspect the rubber to last a year or so. The PTFE clamps are made for constant movement and will allow the cable to slide much easier.

Not sure if this would be the right size, but I assume so. A -10 clamp is for a .61 OD hydraulic line, I doubt the cable is anywhere near that diameter.

Thanks... I'll look into it. But I don't think there is so much sliding or travel... more just keeping it away from the leafs.
