Well after my last few trips out to the desert, I've finally started getting good at utilizing the emergency brake to initiate a slide. My only drama with it is even with the practice, I still sometimes either mistime, or completely miss releasing the pedal.

The problem is having to press on and then press back off to release the e-brake. What I've done is figure out a way to disable the ratcheting system that locks the pedal in place when you press down on it.

It's really simple: (sorry all pics are of the mod enabled and make it hard to see the hole)

First you need to drill a hole in the side of the pedal (as seen with zip tie running through it)

Then route a zip tie around the ratcheting portion of the e-brake. The silver lever seen in the picture. It's easier with a long skinny zip tie. The one in the pic was a little tough to route.

Pull the zip tie tight holding the ratchet from engaging.

Now when you press on the emergency brake it will no longer lock in place and you can simply take your foot off the pedal to release it. And when you are back on the road and want to park on a hill with a little extra peace of mind, simply cut the zip tie and you're good to go
