    hey tacoland,

I came across this video from sema2016, it's of a new "hybrid" bolt on system for any engine/car.

It's supposed to up power by 150tq and allow for 100% electric driving..

    Too good to be true?
Would having an electric motor forcing your crank to spin without spark/fuel damage your engine?
Would it you try it out?

I emailed the company selling this to get more info, I'm really interested in upping my fuel economy but I bought a Tacoma to have a truck for life (currently 70k miles) and don't want some new tech ruining my motor just for a few months of better mpgs...

    Video below:

Company website (extremely vague with no real info)

    Cheers

I did not hear him say it runs on the electric motor only. Pretty sure it runs when the engine is running. I did hear him say it could be used to start the engine, but then, there is nothing really new about that. My 3.4L already has an electric motor that does that.

Other though is where to put it. I suppose I could remove the hood and mount it up high but my truck is an off-road vehicle not a street rod. Running without the hood doesn't seem very practical.

    An interesting idea nonetheless.

Cool idea, but I think in order to be efficient enough, it would be too draining on the engine's performance.
