Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
The only option I see is to remove the actuator and bench test it using a smaller DC voltage.

The motor DOES run on 12v.

I don't think you "fried" anything, however, something may have actuated too far and come off the track or something since the limit switches weren't being used.

When you get the harness, rotate the motor by hand until the match marks are where they are supposed to be like at the end of this document before trying to lock/ unlock.

I know it runs on 12v. I am just suggesting a lower voltage because if he hooks it up direct to the battery he has the potention of send +600 some amps to it unless he fuses it. Just a safety precaution.

Beats me, we mailed him the controller and it arrived about 2 weeks ago. I guess he hasn't had time to install it yet because of school.

sorry gents, for keeping y'alls in the dark. as i've mentioned to drew, school and funerals been kickin' my ass lately, not much time to do anything on the truck. need to do an oil change soon too and haven't even got to that.

i've got one more "theory" of hooking up the original harness that i took from the junker to try out. drew and his bro has been kind enough to send me a unit they built for me to try (i haven't even opened the package yet!!!). if my "theory" fails, i'll use what drew sent me, and i'm sure it will work. but i would like to try all my knowledge out first, at least what's left of it.

if it only stops f****cken raining here so i can get to f****cken work on the truck...

    report back soon...
