This is a good deal! I swapped my rear for a TRD Offroad with a 3rd party switch to engage the locker anytime. Its been great! I still need to sell my stock axle though...

I would love to but just don't have the time, it's just sitting in my garage and I figured someone else might need it more than me, I just hate seeing it sit there when it could be wheelin somewhere else.

I don't believe it has ever been opened, I've only took the drums off to make sure all was good, and made a harness to make sure it functions

Be careful with that. If you give it straight 12v you can burn up or jam the motor driving the worm gear

I just did it to make sure it worked before I bought it, I used a DPDT switch with a little light that comes on to show that its engaged.
I'm fairly certain that it gets 12v from the factory, there are limit switches inside that stop current from flowing once its engaged or disengaged, it does not use power to hold it one way or the other

Yes but the limit switch sends the signal to the locker ECU which you probably didn’t integrate into the harness

No sir I did not, I felt it was an easier swap without having to get the "brain and speed sensor and all that electronic wizardry that the factory puts in the. My truck was not wired for any of that stuff, was just gonna run a DPDT to the dash that way you it's on demand, just dont turn it on over 5mph, lol

Yeah that’s probably not a good idea. I’ve done this swap into a 4banger. Better to get the locker ECU and trick that into thinking the truck is always in 4lo. Then you even get to keep the 5mph safety if you want. Point is that the locker motor will burn up if it gets 12V all the time. It’s not an electro magnet. IIRC It should only be powered while the fork is being moved by the worm gear from locked to unlocked and vice versa.
