So I'm looking to buy my first emtb. A little background , I never really have done the whole mtb thing. When I was younger I did bmx , races and all , and when I rode with my son in his bicycle phase , I got an adult bmx bc , well why not lol back in my 20s I had a SS mtb 26er but that was in san antonio where there were no real climbs to speak of. So fast-forward, I'm now 40 , somewhat out of shape and live in utah. I love the mountains but in no way could I ride the trails around here without being in shape already , enter the ebike. Now I know there's the hard-core "earn your turn " kind of peeps and we'll, good for you, but that's not me lol just looking for something I can ride trails on , improve my health and have fun doing it.

Also I used to ride dirt bikes , used to offroad 4x4s etc , so this would be kind of way to tie what I enjoy , with a healthy way to exercise as well.

All that said , what emtb would be recommended? I have some awesome mountain trails minutes from my house in every direction and want to get my wife one too so we can do this together.

My cousin has a Santa Cruz heckler and loves it. Prices have come way down in the last few years. I don’t have an e-bike but the heckler seems like good bang for your buck from a great brand.
