Why isn't anyone painting the outer surround? Leaving it raw black makes it look even cheaper.

It’s a good idea I may go in for a quote for that. Any idea how much it would cost to paint that?

Is there a gap at the top of the grill?

it feels like it's missing something.. the TRD badge helps, but it feels like its so flat. just my opinion.. doesn't look too bad in your picture though

So does the grill not separate from the surround? You can’t use your factory surround?

I might try it, at the moment I'm liking the contrast. It looks better in person, but I'm curious to see how it'd look with the outside painted

I got my truck as a lease with a plan to purchase it after the lease is done.
But just in case for whatever reason I change my mind at that point, I'm trying to keep the OEM parts that I remove fully in tact until then.

this grille imo is sturdier than the oem. no the "mesh" will not come apart from the surround. im still considering having mine painted but i still like it very much and im constantly asked about it and told they like it.

I think if the putter bezel was color match and painted(like stock) it would make the center grill pop more. Someone paint theirs and post some pics!

Seems like we've still not seen someone confirm whether or not the insert is removable compatible with the OEM grill nose.

Is it not possible to remove the LED mesh part and put it in my OEM painted grill nose?

seems like you answered your own question there buddy....... like i said (the guy who has the EAG grille on his truck) the EAG does NOT come apart in a way to use your old surround.

Since everyone keeps asking to see the color matched surround this guy did it earlier in the thread.

That looks much better with the surround painted. Also, what's the slot on the bottom for? It looks too small for a light bar.
