Eagle Lakes Trip - October 9 - 11

Wow, what an awesome time. I really enjoyed running eagle lakes with all of you (Jerry, John, Cha, Alvin, Troy) and working as a team to get through some of the obstacles. The beginning of Fordyce was definitely fun, i'd like to go back up and do that trail once i get a winch and all the skids. Overall a successful trip!

Alvin and Troy, Had a blast camping with you both. My dad enjoyed it as well. The run to signal peak was pretty sweet. Views were absolutely incredible. Glad you stayed for the day trip Troy!

Alvin, loved the new trail we found and the great camping spot for a future meet up there! Not to mention crossing the Yuba River Enjoyed BSing around the campfire with ya and can't wait for another overnight trip!

I don't have any pictures, although i did bring the GoPro camera for some video footage... but here are some from John (over at NorCal Fjs)

 

Sick pictures. I wish I could have gone. Atleast I got a lot of work done this weekend so I feel like I accomplished something. I can't wait to go on some future camping trips.

 

Here is the photos I took, not many though. All the ones in the rocky forest stuff is Eagle Lakes Trail. and maybe Fordice whoops. The views and the look Out Bunker are from on top of Signal Peak.

I had a really good time, that Eagle Lakes trail turned out to be awesome. Jason and Alvin were headed back to do it again when I was leaving.

^ Troy, we actually found another trail that split from the eagle lakes one that brought us by the Yuba River. Pretty sweet water crossing on that trail. Also for a future camping site all the way at the end there was a HUGE wide open area where approx 20 rigs could fit w/tents and junk. Definitely a must for the next eagle lakes trip.

Thanks man we had a blast except for the little ass pucker moment we had going out. I dropped off a rock the wrong way and just about rolled the truck. Cha had to come and hold my back bumper down so I could creep down the rock talk about shit yourself.

Well I'm ready for the next run I got my tires today.

 

Whens the next eagle lakes camping trip Jason? Spring time?

 

How much trail time does this add? or is it just getting to the river and nice camping, I remember some other threads about going to the river.

 

Yeah probably going to plan one around then. Ill set it up closer to next spring to finalize the dates. Supposedly its pretty sweet there in spring with all the snow melt.

Its actually just a dead end into the large camp areas. Pretty neat trail leading to it. I would say it was about an extra 30-45. But as far as we could tell it didn't meet back up with eagle lakes

 

Sweet pictures guys...it's my first post here, hopefully I can run the trail with you guys in spring. I've done it during the snow melt season, and it's fun. Let me see if I can dig up some pics...
