most people will read the title and say its another goof ball rant, no this is simply a warning to any one who seeks to put aftermarket wheels on their tacoma made by Eagle Alloy.

In October of 2009 I installed Eagle 185 alloys in black on my 05 TRD Sport DC LB, they looked unreal I was so happy with the purchase. After a while i started to notice gentle surface rust forming on the center caps (no big deal rub it off and rock and roll) then i started to notice the paint peeling off the rim in massive flakes (i became mildly irritated) then the black painted inserts in the outter edge of the wheels started to flake off (this turned mild irritation into complete and otter HULK SMASH!) I called Eagle and they said tough &*%$ you can have them refinished at a cost to you, so now I am stuck with $800.00 in garbage.

That sucks. Maybe try taking them to an auto body shop and see if they can paint them or have them powdercoated. Im not sure how much it would cost but its worth a shot.

That stinks. My Teflon Mojaves starting doing that, but not that badly. It was just right around the hub bore a little. just sanded it and spray painted it a little. looks alright.

when i bought my eagles, the guy gave me the choice of regular or stainless caps. paid a bit more for the stainless 'cause i didn't want the corrosion issues. did you keep your wheels on for the winter?
