Anyone remember the Landers /Big Bear earthquake in June 1992

I was camping in the Johnson Valley OHV area with my 4x4 club when at 5am all hell broke loose . I was startled awake in my tent when the 7.3 quake hit and jumped out of my tent . what I saw was dust floating in the air all over Johnson Valley and it looked strange

All my fellow club members did the same jumping out of there tent or motor home . about an hour later we were around the campfire talking about what happened . about 2 hrs later that morning we felt another strong quake at 8am which was a 6.5 near Big Bear Lake

Can confirm. Drive through the valley every day. Axe is key for survival.

Another earthquake I remember very well was the Hector Mine earthquake , this one was a 7.1 just east of Barstow on Oct 1999

On the topic of earthquakes, the '94 Northridge earthquake happened the morning that my family and I moved to LA from Texas. I was 9 years old and we were staying in a Hampton Inn in Valencia, about 10 miles from the epicenter. Was an epic "welcome to LA" from mother nature.
