Ease of maintenance?

    Not one, but two male coworkers of mine in the office had to have new motors put in their cars (both cars were built within the past 10 years) because they never checked the oil or took them in for an oil change. One of them told me that his oil lantern light had been on for a few weeks and he just thought it meant he needed to take it in for an oil change soon :facepalm: I shit you not.

    Both are 30 years old and have somehow made it this far in life without knowing very basic vehicle maintenance knowledge. Blows the mind. I showed both of them how to read a dipstick and check other fluids, but something tells me this won't be the first time they learn the hard way.

    My father wasn't a DIY car guy by any means, but I still learned from a young age that at the very least you don't ignore the maintenance intervals. I took it upon myself to learn how to do things myself, because it interested me. Not that everyone needs to go that far, but you'd think when a $10k - $30k investment is on the line, you'd want to take care of it...
