Hi guys, so my 2016 limited Tacoma was totaled last week and I picked up a 2021 TRD off-road this week. I was used to the much nicer JBL sound system and subwoofer in the limited and would like to upgrade the sound in this 2021 off-road. No idea where to start but looking for the more simple install and something that won’t break the bank?
    Any ideas? Thanks!

replace the speakers with something decent
    add kicker key amp
if you're feeling fancy, add a sub. anything from a small powered sub under the seat, to an enclosure behind the back seat and an amp to push it.

A very basic system that will blow away the JBL system could be done for probably $1200 after tax if you look at holiday sales

I’ve been happy with the Kicker HS10 hideaway, if you are considering powered subs.

If you buy a cheaper amp (like I did - kicker 4x65), the audiocontrol matrix plus will allow you keep your gain down and get nice sound w/o distortion.

Replacing the tweeters first will make a huge different. Then get an amp to run the speakers, and one for a micro sub.
