So I'm here... Trying to lift my Taco a little more. Haha

Long story short, I would like to move my Bilstein 5100's from setting 3 to 5 (A controversial decision I know).

My question is: should I remove the shocks again in order to do this, or is there an easier way to move the perch up without having to take the shocks off of the truck? Thanks in advance!

Safest way to do is to remove the shock off the truck. I don’t think you could compress the coil enough to do it on the truck. Plus it would be super dangerous to try.

I figured this would be the answer, but I wanted to get other opinions just in case there was a better way. Didn't want to make the job harder than it has to be. If removing the shocks is best though, I can do that. Thanks!

I’m a flat rate tech and I won’t risk it in the truck. Gotta remove and compress.

The ride will be the same. Went from the 4th to the 5th and added 285s. In fact it rides better but that may be from the new Toyo AT3s. I have read mixed reviews and people with no experience in doing this talked crap and not knowing first hand. You will be fine!
