    I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
    Yeah when I'm shooting a welding arc I toss on my ND filter or at least a UV filter. and shoot in live mode so I'm not looking at the arc.

    Smart idea... I was reading a little bit and seems that mostly it doesn't hurt the sensor, but live mode seems like it would actually stand a chance at hurting the sensor because the mirror is up, exposing the sensor the entire time.
