Picked up a 2.7L 97' 4x4 recently with only just under 150,000 miles. Drove perfect for a long test drive, on the way home oil pressure light came on and I can hear some noise coming from the bottom of the motor. Preparing for the worst, does anyone have recommendations on shops that do good rebuilds/replacements in the Easy Bay area? Thanks.

I would use FRANK in Concord. zero doubt. most honest mechanic I have ever met.

Franks Import Service or something. I live in Santa Rosa now, and on the big issues, I still figure out a way to get my truck to Frank. I think I pass 100 shops that are closer on the way to him.

Frank and my Dentist...only reason to go to Concord now. :D

I had a clutch replacement and a blown headgasket happen around the same time about 7 years ago. I had this Anson auto repair shop do the clutch job and had an engine swap with 150K, swapped out the engine block with blown head gasket rather than rebuild the engine block, new radiator/water pump/etc installed. The engine swap & labor ran me around $6K, but was well worth it.
