Another question. What's better, new cv axle or remanufactured? I was going to hit up O'Reilly for a new one, but their warehouse is out and there's already two people waiting for them. Autozone doesn't list any new ones. Napa lists a new one, but I have no idea if they have any in their warehouse yet. They all have reman axles.

Or is there a better place to get one? Better brand?

FWIW, I have remans from Autozone in my Tundra. Lifetime warrenty (even on the boots) and not a single problem in the 9 months I've had them on. Can't beat the price either.

Remans with lifetime warranty :D You'll never have to 'buy' another CV again... definitely the way to go.

Then I guess I'll just hit up O'Reilly for a reman since they have the lifetime warranty and they're just down the street.

Excellent plan. Also one other note. The boots on my reman Tundra CVs were WAY thicker and nicer than the one's that come from the factory. They had more ribs in the CV boot that flexes with less stretching than the factory ones did too. All in all I'm happy enough with them that I plan on buying the exact same ones for my soon to be long travel tacoma (which uses Tundra axles). I doubt they will notice the core's I return are 3.5 inches shorter. :D

So are the ones that you got from Autozone the Duralast brand?

Damn you for making me getting up and walking into my garage to look in my shit drawer of reciepts to find out the brand and look at my completely stripped truck with no motor transmission rear differential rear axles transfer case or much of anything else but a truck shell and make me feel sorry for myself again so much that I had to make myself a drink and take half a valium.

    Whoa....run on sentance.

I mean yes, yes they are Duralast. Probably made from the same sweatshop that the O'Reily ones are from too.

Let me guess...smart phone? If so, screw you!:D If not, well screw you anyway.:D (see I was much gentler on you if you didn't have a smart phone by using a period instead of an exclamation point) LOL

I'll go with the Autozone then. I'd rather wear the boots that have a reputation that precedes them than take a chance on boots that no one has ever seen before.

So I decided to google map your city, Jerry, to get an idea of where I'll be going. Two things come to mind. First, damn I gotta pay a toll! Second, who the hell takes the time to remove all the cars from the freeways on Google's Earth view?! Correction, I guess maybe I just wasn't zoomed in enough. Or maybe too many hours staring at the computer today. Definitely time for bed!

No, not a smart phone, but a dumb computer. I have kids they think taking they keys off daddy's laptop and mixing them up is a game. Actually it was just a rant.

Honestly I was going to get the ones from Kragen (aka O'Reily's) cause they are closer to my house than Autozone, but the guy working there was the definition of a fucktard. I got annoyed and drove down to Autozone and was taken care of in a hot second. I know I'm going to have to replace the axles (due to cv wear) again and they were very up front at Autozone about the warrenty: "No questions asked." The guy said I could bring it back every 6 months if I wanted cause the CV boot wasn't the right color for all he cared.

Anyhow, enough BS. Here's my reman CV's as they stand today on the Tundra.

He's on the list we should have enough jack stands to do all the lifts at one first thing in the morning. I just sold my boat so that room for one more truck :D and padding in my pocket for mods:goingcrazy:

Cool, then everyone should arrive bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and jump right in on those lifts right?:D

Btw, could you do me a favor when you get a chance and measure the exact clearance of your garage door? I haven't measured my truck since Seth's mod day but I'm pretty damn sure there may only be about a half inch clearance now. Maybe I'll just air down my tires to get it through there!
