    .
That they don't last as long as they should, ie, they will sag after a while. I called them and they told me that my truck is at the limit of what their expos can handle:eek: so i am not going to get those, I sent an email to Alcan and they are working up a quote of leafs specific to my truck and my requirements. Seems I punish my springs more than most tacoma owners do. Alcan has these cool ball joints as mounts that allow the leafs to swivel with a lot of flex.

Double cab long bed with rack and shell, the rack and shell are about 450 lbs, usually around 100 lbs worth of stuff in the bed, that's considered 'unloaded'.

Yikes. Be sure to post up the quote from Alcan if you would please. I'm curious :) Are you thinking of getting those ball joint mounts they sell as well? I'm thinking this is going to cost you a very pretty penny :O

i've seen that done before i think the issue was axle shifting on the street but offroad they are great, probly give you another 2-3 9inches of flex.

My needs are probably different from yours, I asked for three inches that would settle down to around two, work truck now, play truck later. Going to ask some more questions about the balls. In the long run, I'm not sure it will be something I will ever really fully utilize. The prelim quote I got (not sure if that's with balls or not), is $526, IMO a fair price for a set of springs matched to my particular needs.

I put the AP expos on my 07 DCLB about 8 months ago. About a week after I installed them I went to Black Rock Desert. I had a decent load...fuel, water, camo netting, steel targets/ammo. On day 2 one side was saging real bad. I thought I blew shock or something, but the spring was flatten out.

I make it back to NorCal just fine and call AP. They wanted me to send in pics (I did). Then they wanted me to pull both springs to swap and send in pics of that. I told them I didn't have time for that, so just send me the new one and return slip for the old one. They were not easy to work with on trying to get a new spring.

After I put the new one in, I haven't had any more issues and I load my truck up pretty good.

Yeah probably true. That setup seems to only be about $100 more than the expo's. That's not a bad deal at all.

I just noticed you don't have me on the list in the first post. That's no big deal, except I figure you're going to send out the shop address via PM to the folks on that list...
