I'm looking to make the 12v charger on the dash (3rd gen) always on so I can charge things without the truck on. Is it possible to use an add-a-fuse on that circuit and connect it to another add-a-fuse on an always on circuit. I can't find anything online about whether this is safe or would actually change the ign triggered circuit to always on. I would plan on using fuses rated to the original circuit. Looking for a way to avoid having to solder the board. Thanks

I don’t understand why you’d need 2 add a fuses. Just fine one with power that’s always hot and connect your accessory to it.

I added a USB port in the center console switch panel. Then you can wire it to an always hot source. Much easier than trying to hack into the OEM port. You can find them on Amazon.
