    That's like 7,000 cycles a year at 5 days a week.
    I would probably learn how to replace them even though it's probably been tested to 100K cycles or so. Lots of reasons they could fail that would shorten the life substantially.

    Bed cover and Mud flaps, OEM Audio, Super Bump stops, Sumo Springs, Bed Stiffeners, Stryker hood shocks
    if your worried about theft on your tailgate, there was a thread on a lock for it and also just putting a hose clamp around the right side, that's what I did just in case, easy theft prevention..
