Has anyone used this type of heated seat in there taco?

I'm somewhat mechanically inclined to do minor things like spark plugs etc.. BUT the whole pulling of the seats/wiring and everything kind of freaks me out to install permanent seat heaters.

Not jinxing an early winter by all means!

Doing the seats aren’t that bad. You can slip the heating elements under the seat cover and then pull back the sticky back off and poke the wire through the back.you can run all your electric through the center console . I did the $89 kit from ebay in my father in-laws 2012 and it wasn’t bad. He was nervous that I took the front seats out. Lol . But he loves them and they look stock. I went a different after market route buying a kit from heatyourseat.com a bit more expensive but my seats get way hotter than his. You can kinda see the switches . But i was thinking one of those cushions for my work van417D041A-39CC-4729-A544-6D62C4FB5909.jpg

It's not a difficult project. The seats came apart with relative ease. Re-intalling the hog rings was more of a pain than taking the seat apart.

My wife has been after me to install "seat heaters" for some time. We have to take her Jeep for errands when its cold because of this. I have held off installing aftermarket type seat heaters because of the many "bad reports" I have read from folks who have used them. I would appreciate hearing from successful installs and brands as well.

Thanks for your reply! A little reassurance goes along way. I'll check out heatyourseat.com I do like that you said it gets hotter as that's what I'm worried about the Amazon seat cover.

I like how the heat loosens up my lower back a little before I get to work.

Just two more questions for you.

Did you get the job done in a day?

How long have they been installed and working well?

    Thanks!

I did a full install, front and rear last winter. I did a lot of 'extra' wiring, and I have had no problems at all. Works great, no blown fuses and the whole thing is warm and toasty! Here are the threads to my write up: tacomaworld.com/threads/something-different-installing-rear-seat-heaters.588921/
    and tacomaworld.com/threads/something-different-rear-seat-heaters-pt-ii.589226/
Lots of pictures. Disassembling the seats is not for the meek (my opinion...), but putting the elements under a seat cover would be easy. The wiring is big, especially if you do it correctly-I don't want a fire, and that is one of the issues with the factory seat heaters..., so I went big. Time will tell, but I am happy and don't have to worry. If you have any questions feel free to pm me.

Also: Used truck as a daily driver last winter with a full cab of five: heaters used every day!!! Work great.

You can definitely do it in one day. Make sure you have everything you need and plan out your install. The bottom factory switch blanks are a little PITA to get out but once you have the center console out you can reach under and poke them out.

Ive been using this company for almost 10 years. Ive put 5 of these kits in over the years. My family were BIG into jeeps and once i put mine in of course everyone else wants one. And honest truth they get almost to hot! On the high setting. If you do go with them opt for the flat membrane switches. the rockers switches aren’t that good
