Hi, I'm still getting used to this forum thing so bear with me. Just got a 2018 SR5 and was hoping to get into off roading. I don't have any armor on the truck and am a bit paranoid of screwing myself over, so I was wondering if anyone knew any easy trails within a few hours of Cypress, Texas (basically Houston)? Also, if anyone was available to "show me the ropes" and get my butt started it would be greatly appreciated.

Is Sam just fire roads, or are there actual trails to run?

For what I think a trail is then no, it’s all fire roads but where we were u needed 4x4 to get pass because of mud. But I just went on one small area.

I’m in Tomball. I have a few friends in Cypress that’s in the off road community. I’m pretty sure there’s nothing around Houston other than a few mud parks. Barnwell Mountain or Hidden Falls would be your closest parks. Barnwell is north of Longview in Gilmer. They host Lonestar Toyota Jambo or “Jambo” yearly in May. There’s plenty of basic 2-3 diamond trails you can run a stock truck on. The weather will make the trail difficulty increase dramatically on some trails though. Go with someone that has some experience at the park and you should be good.

Hidden Falls is NW of Austin. I haven’t been there yet but there’s many folks on here that have. I’m planning on making it up in the next month or so.
