    Reading mixed opinions here..

Definitely will be doing the tweeter upgrade as it seems that's the biggest upgrade but I am also seeing people saying that upgrading stock front and rear speakers doesn't improve a lot(probably bottlenecked by the head unit) so should I just stick to the tweeter upgrade? an extra $150 for the crutchfield speakers doesn't seem like it's worth it if the difference is barely audible regardless of how flimsy the current paper speakers are.

I have the entune premiun with nav head unit if it makes any difference.

Do it. Pretty sure you'll have far more positive than negative reviews on my other thread:

I believe I saw somewhere in this thread, asking if the Subaru tweeters are better than the JBL 3rd gen tweeters.
I Attempted to install but the connectors are different.

New to the forum here and have ordered all the speakers and parts to do the swap soon. Has anyone installed the sound deadener directly over the existing plastic and felt insulation on the door? Thanks in advance guys for your help.

I did just that... see my post earlier in this thread. Worked fine. You could probably do better if you put it right on the bare metal, but I was looking for simple and did not need the sound performance to be perfect.

Tweeter mod for sure. Night and day difference. The clear highs are unbelievable.
As for the door speakers, my local shop said he would recommend not upgrading the door speakers unless adding an amp because the difference would be negligible. In fact he said the best upgrade would be adding a small sub and amp.
All in all, the stock system sounds great with the new tweeters.

Finally got around to doing the tweeter mod. Seems to be an improvement over the SR stock one. Easy quick mod. 15 min at most.

I would have to disagree with the local shop recommendation there. The stock Entunes Premium HU actually puts out decent and clean power which is why people are having success by just replacing the speakers. Will it be as noticeable of an upgrade like the tweeter swap is? No, but it's still very noticeable once you turn up the volume.

Also, if you were to add an amp to the stock speakers, you will certainly hear distortion and they will bottom out quite easily...they are incredibly cheap and will not be able to handle much more than what the stock HU was able to put out. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if you end up blowing a speaker after adding the amp...

You can add an amp if you want, but definitely not necessary. Speakers alone are a vast improvement. If you want to keep going, have at it... it's all in how much time, money, and effort you want to put into it.

I have a question, is the Subaru Kicker tweeters the stock speaker on a Subaru, or an upgraded speaker? Could I just go to a "u-pull" and yank 'em out?

They are part of an upgrade package. I would say the majority of them don't have the upgrade.

    Agreed.

Back when I bought my WRX, the factory stereo/speaker choices were either standard or the Harmon Kardon system. The Kicker speakers were a dealer/consumer added option for the standard systems. Likelihood of finding those in a wrecked car is relatively low I would think.

Odd request here and I usually do my own research but I'm in a time crunch so need some help. I installed the OEM Audio system in my DCLB. Love it but Christmas Eve I got involved in a hit an run. Most likely totaled the truck with the front end damage. Other driver fled the scene while I was choking on airbag smoke...but he crash ripped their bumper off with plates attached.

I'm fine, but I'm towing the truck to my house tomorrow and removing my shell and OEM Audio system. I may use it in the new vehicle...not sure what that is yet.

I need Tweets, Front and Rear speakers to put back in as I didn't save the Originals. I don't have much time so I'd like some recommendations for easy install parts. I don't want to cut and solder ( I can do that but want to save the hassle). I just need pieces to put in so the stereo works for the adjuster when they check it out.
