    tint.
I have never installed tint, but it can't be rocket science...

And to make it easier, it looks like I can it precut from Ebay.

Anyone else done that? Weird thing is some places sell for like $11 and others sell for like $50. Assuming the good ole 'you get what you pay for' is true, I am hoping to buy a $25-30 set of fronts and stay legal. (rears have privacy glass)

Its about the same. If your patient you can razor blade 10 dollar tint from a part store to fit. Just be careful when applying it on that when your squeezing the soappy water out that you don't tear, or leave ridge grooves in it or its mission failed,

I wouldnt attempt it personally. I work at a dealership and even some of the "pro's" manage to butcher a job ever now and again. The last thing you want is to be one of those people driving around with a million bubbles in there tint.

I would just pay $100 to get it done proffesionally IMO

20% tint on all windows, Deckplate mod, satoshi-ish grille, blacked out and/or body matched emblems, rattle canned rims, red l.e.d. interior lights, bilstein 5100's and OME 881 coils , deaver 8 leaf pack, 1.5" lift shackle, alpine sound system, 55w HID lightforce 140 and 170 fogs
I installed some ebay precut stuff about a year ago. Its held up perfectly so far, but its coming off today because i got pulled over. It wasnt too bad to install, just tedious. Make sure not to let your windows freeze for a few days after you install it because the residual water under the tint will freeze and leave bubbles.

Applying tint is an art. I'm not an artist and I can only get small stickers on successfully. :)

Parts store tint looses it color over time and looks crappy. I am not sure how good the dye is on ebay tint that is my only concern.

I have tinted probably ten or so vehicles and if you take your time and have common sense it is not that hard. Large curved windows are much harder but nothing on the tacoma is hard at all.

the only negative about cheap tint is after a year or two it will turn purple and bubble.

but if you only plan on keeping for 2-3 years, its better then paying 150$ when u can pay 40, ya know

It definitely is an art. The precut stuff makes it much easier though and will a lot of patience it cannn be done successfully

Get a pro to do it and get 3M or something as good. It's worth it in my opinion.

OP, as a local Fairfax resident I highly recommend The Tint Shop in Chantilly. They tinted my two front windows in 45 minutes for 80 bucks with a lifetime warranty and after 3 years the tint still looks amazing.

Old saying cry one time pay one time. A pro will normally tint the 2 fronts for $60 to $80 bucks with good tint and warranty it for life. Look for a shop that uses 3M or Lumar products.

This. Both good stuff. 75 bucks for llumar on my 2 fronts. I think the shop I used was still under 200 for a 5 window sedan which I thought was pretty damn good too.

i tried it once with a roll and i cried. make sure your windows are clean when you do it. one strand of fiber from whatever you use to clean ruins your job.

to me its not the cutting and shaping that is difficult, its the cleanliness. what a pita

IMO, pre-cut is a waste unless you REALLY know what you are doing. You have to get it JUST right in order to be successful.

You all are acting like tinting windows is a 4 year degree! Make sure windows are clean and lots of soapy water. With pre cut it is a lot easier. Cutting and fitting is half the battle.
