from what I understand, that isnt a real snorkel because it has "drain holes" in the body of the thing itself. Also, I dont think you can buy one of those from toyota either.

You are correct... however, some are able to get them from a dealer regardless. The thing is it is discounted for 2020 (I believe and up). So it is no longer a dealer option if buying a pro. In addition, installing a roof rack is a little different as the snorkel mounts to the point where the roof rack would as well. They do make trd desert intake specific racks to mitigate it.

YOU can buy a oem snorkel. I did for my 2020 pro, you need to find a factory trd pro with the snorkel from the factory give the dealer that vin# to it and order it . YOU NEED IT TO COME FROM THE FACTORY LIKE THAT. . see my post on snorkel last year's post.

It looks better in person, in my opinion. What is nice about the oem intake is that it wraps the pillar so no visibility issues and it flows the the lines of truck. But understandably it is not everyone's cup of tea. Some may not like a raised intake period. For me it has been worth while as it keeps my filter (much cleaner) than without it.

Here is the exact one that I ordered: https://www.ebay.com/itm/264867703527

This one isnt like the ones they usually have on eBay. This one is legit a direct copy of the ARB. Fit is identical, shape is identical, finish is even the same. A lot of people talk about the dobinsons and how thats what most of the ones on eBay are, but this one is 100 percent an ARB safari snorkel without the massive letters. Here are some pics I took this morning of both mine and the ARB one side by side.

Really, no one is gonna let this kid on the secret? Or are we waiting for the "I went through 4' of water and now my snorkel equipped truck won't start" thread?

Looks great. Looks like a good copy of the safari . What’s the inner intake diameter. Safari has the 4 inches diameter of the snorkel head while others has less than that .

Honestly not sure because I wasn’t thinking about measuring it haha. I am pretty sure it was 4 though.

Looks nice! I’m not sure if I would add one if it didn’t come with one, I just wish Toyota made the scoop usable.

So, I just got the exact same one as the dude in the white truck. Quality is pretty damn nice, only issue is the fucking template. The holes was so far off you could of just made me guess where they should of been from the start. Luckly I guess everything is hidden behind the snorkel to realize I have 6 extra holes. But if you look pass that, for the price I can’t really complain. Maybe the 400+ difference between the ARB and the Chinese is you get a decent template.
