Cable could be broke somewhere. Mine were/are where they enter the rear of the drum, inside the casing..... (Supposedly since I haven't taken them apart to confirm)

Anyone have any diagrams or manuals or something?

I'm still confused... The cable goes from the pedal to underneath the carpet and then i'm not sure where? For some reason it seems like its hooked to the tranny "shift linkage". Any ideas?

you got a 06 I have a 08 - mine were rusted up where the cable goes into the rear wheel - replaced the cables - now ok. You live in NY - I live in NJ - lots of salt - lots of rust.

Okay, from the emergency brake pedal the cable runs through the dash to underneath the console. Where there the two cables for the emergency brakes connect. There is an adjustment there.

Everything I am relating is my experience with an '06 DCLB 4WD auto LB...
The cables going to the brake drums, enter above the transmission and have a long boot on them where they enter the cab.
Removing the shift knob and trim cover which pulls up you'll see where everything comes together.
Remove the armrest, it'll make the job easier. 2 screws under the shift trim and 2 bolts under the carpet in the armrest cubby. The armrest and console snap together.... You'll see what I mean..
You'll see the cable jackets secured with horseshoe clips.

I'm gonna bet that the cable jackets are broken at the drum where they enter as mine were.

If you're not familiar with drum brakes, do one side at a time as they are mirror images. it is a fairly straightforward job although tedious.

Whereas my truck has the longest configuration, my new cables had orange bands on the drum end of the cable.

I went the AutoZone and advance Auto parts route and their listings were both incorrect for my vehicle. One had the orange band, the other didn't. I ended up buying rebestos brand from RockAuto and they are very very close to OEM.

It's not a hard job nor a fun job. Buy once cry once. Don't make my mistake!

Really appreciate it! So the adjustment is underneath the shifter/center console. Makes sense!

Okay the parts place I like to use has the ebrake cables for $95 each. Cable company is "world parts". Good quality or should I look around?

I imagine the raybestos one is slightly cheaper.

Other options are Napa. Not sure they are probably rebranded something.

    Doorman is cheapest.

Cables will be here by this evening. Do I need to take the brake shoes, springs, arms etc off?

The carpet comes out of the center console cubby/arm rest? Mine seems like its glued in. I see two large bolts underneath the armrest?

EDIT ohh nvm it comes out with a backing plate.

those shoes looked like they were brand new in that video, probably no need to replace them since they haven't been pressing against the drum in who knows how long
    good luck

Yes it does and no it's not... 10mm bolts iirc.

To be honest, it sounds like you're throwing parts at it hoping something works. That can get expensive quickly.

As @glk21c stated, those shoes do look like they've got lots of life. Maybe they're not adjusted correctly...

Who did the brakes? Why aren't you bringing it back to them to fix?

Dude the ebrake wire is damaged. Needs to be replaced.
Friend of a friend did the rear brakes. Backyard type deal. Ebrake hasn't worked in years so its not like they damaged it.

Dude, we can't spoon feed you through this. You had the drum off in ones off your videos; did you not try to follow where it goes inside the drum? The biggest thing is paying attention to what and how things come apart. Lay everything you take off like an exploded view drawing

Re-read post 25. It pretty much walks you through it.
