Yeah, you'll want that in there or it will probably leak. Better yet, just replace the seal since you have it all apart

That spring is what makes that seal "seal."

I would but I don’t have leverage with my seal puller unless I take the lower control arm off which I’m not getting into that. Maybe I’ll cut the handle of the seal puller in half

Cool, you'll be glad you did that. I didn't because I thought i was careful and didn't damage the seal, and guess what... the next weekend I was pulling the axle again to replace the seal

Not sure the exact number, sorry. I think it’s 1.8. Just full until it starts to flow out of the fill hole.

Make sure you use the Lucas brand gear oil that they recommend for that bushing. It has Anti Foaming additives which will help keep the new bushing properly lubricated.

Glad everything worked out for you!!......

I'm planning to install the ECGS bushing in 2 weeks over the Labor Day weekend. I was thinking it was going to be easy, but after reading this thread I'm second guessing myself. Sounds like it could turn into a total nightmare........

It’s not that hard, just put a small plastic bag in their so you don’t lose the end of the tool. Also, you have to tap one side of that piece to get it aligned, the videos don’t show that clearly. Have all the tools ready along with a new seal

What tools (don't need wrench sizes, mostly any special tools used) are needed? What type of oil did you use also, and would purchasing the seal be a good idea?
