if it only has some small bumps and stuff / file it down / oil needs to get a little up there anyways / your CV seal keeps all of it in / i think a better pic and you may just want to run with it / it will still be better then OEM part / i don't think you fucked it up to bad..... it will live i think unless you can show us something Big !

Thanks everyone, I will see what I can do about cleaning it up ans getting better pics. Im fairly worried about metal shavings at this point, so Ill see if I can get a microfiber cloth and pull them up. Magnet didnt seem to get any, Im thinking its not strong enough to pull them with the gear oil.

The best practice is to drain it, flush it with something like mineral spirits or brake cleaner, then refill. We don’t want any metal in there.

Just installed mine yesterday. It doesnt have to be flush. I kept hammering hoping it would go further. Hope I didnt mess it up doing that. I drove around for 10 mins and have had any vibes or sound so i hope it's good. Guess we will see lol.

I used a installer tool. Worked well. I tried using a socket at first but I could see it was leaving marks on the face so I stopped.

That blows man. Did u stuff plastic past the bushing before trying to remove it? I had to modify my puller to make it fit in there.

Alright, an update. I got a collet style inside blind bearing pull and carefully set it up and pulled the bushing out. Here are some pics, I was able to flip the bushing around and start to slide the bushing over the side I used a socket to drive but NOT the other side at all. Looking closely, you can see some kind of line on the inside edge of the bushing. Its possible I caused this with stress attempting to remove the bushing but I doubt it. There seems to be a clear “impact line” on the side from whee Id guess the half shaft was stopping inside the bushing

Simplier terms: if I could start to slide my half shaft in from the outside edge and get further than the inside did, I dont see how I beat it out. I didnt push it down hard so it might have stopped still, but it certainly sat deeper than the other side did.

I ordered a new bushing from ECGS, but I will be honest I am not happy with their customer service. I have called several times and never got anyone to pick up, and I left them a voicemail on Saturday and didnt hear back.

Im a reasonable guy, maybe I did it? But I have a sneaking suspicion it wasnt in spec

I used sockets and electrical tape on the removal tool to drive my bushing in. No issues, I did have to downsize the inner socket and use a little more tape wrap than pictured but you get the idea:

Might add the bushing is designed directional, it's to be driven from one side only, the lipped end goes inward

Let us know when you get the new one. I’d be very curious to see some caliper measurements of them both.
