I recently installed a 3 inch lift and I noticed very small vibrations from 20-25 mph. It's not bad and it doesn't really bother me much. If it is this bushing, am I hurting anything?

My understanding is the reason for the change is due to the OEM bearing having the “needles” break off and potentially go into the diff and getting caught in the gears which would ultimately destroy the front diff.

Did you put it in 4wd to see if it goes away?

Diff drop is not needed for 2nd or 3rd Gen.

I didn’t have the vibe until immediately after I removed my diff drop. So I think it does help somewhat.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
This is a long debated thing. I have used it on two 2nd gens and never had an issue. Many people say it can cause more damage because it lowers the diff thus making it prone to hitting something like a rock. To those people I feel my 3/16 steel skid will suffice. It's cheap, easy and quick. It helps the angles though not much it does help and they designed it for a reason. I will take the engineers side on this one. I use it, why not!

Whatever, I removed mine and it only drops it about a 1/4 inch. Waste of money.

Perhaps he was about 1/4 out of spec. LOL...

I didn’t know anything about the needle bearing issue at first. I read on here how the diff drop wasn’t as helpful and how it could damage the diff if I hit something. So I removed it. The next day on my way to work I heard and felt a low growl at certain speeds. I googled what it could be which is when a I found the thread on here about it. Why would anyone make something like that up?( not directed at you ) I don’t care if anyone believes me or not, just stating my experience. Lol

I wonder if this is due to the predominance of people putting in the 1/4 spacer lift for the lean? That would be a good poll...

You may have trashed your needle bearings. What you're experiencing might be them grinding in the bushing. That's just what my thought would be if it was me. Honestly, I expected you to say that it went away in 4wd. Hopefully someone that knows more about this can chime in.

My 17 offroad had this come up with 17000 miles. Dealership is replacing the whole front differential under warranty

    Are you lifted?

EDIT: Saw your truck is in fact lifted. How did it go down at the dealer to get it warrantied? Did you buy the truck as it sits from the dealer?

You should have just done the bearing. You'll have the same issue again.
