Know your frustration, relax take your time re-do's tend to make us rush, rushing breeds re-do's. My rule of thumb with seals is " when in doubt numbers out" A 50 cent 2" pvc coupler is perfect to drive these in.

I cant beleive Ive been installing it backwards all this time. Ive stared at pictures of these seals online for so long and could have sworn the spring side faced the hub and not the diff. I feel like a ding dong.

Ok now I just put my seal in with only my hands and it is sitting flush with the housing lip... most of people here says that it has to sit flush... here it is... but no tapping? Mmmm seems weird to me...

Welp. Pulled the truck all apart again. I was able to pop the seal out relatively easy, since it was barely driven in, without any damage.

Flip flopped it and drove it in flush with a 2" pvc adapter.

    Hope it stops leaking.

This is on my to do list. Hope mine goes a little smoother. Maybe you could post any helpful tips since you are probably getting pretty good now at pulling this all apart lol.

Hope flipping the seal does the trick!

I may be good to make a little write up this evening. I did the one on passenger side today, again, because the seal I put in was leaking too... now everything seems to be fine

I'll keep updating this. I'll edit the OG post too as I go.

I put probably 20 miles on the new seal and stopped and got brake cleaner. I just sprayed the diff and shit off. I need to go back out later on today. We'll see what it looks like when I get home tonight

Years ago, I was rebuilding the front hub on my old T-100. It was late in the day and I just wanted to finish up the hub so it was ready to install the following morning. The last thing I did was install the inner seal. When I got it in without damaging it, I thrust my two fists into the air in victory. Then I looked down and saw the new wheel bearing sitting on the bench beside me..........
Luckily, I always buy two seals when I'm replacing one. I've damaged too damned many trying to get them in. So, I ripped that brand new seal back out (and twisted the shit out of it in the process), dropped the bearing in and installed the second seal. Then I went in and drank a bunch of beer.

Got my driver side in today. Used a balljoint sleeve from balljoint kit that just fit around outside diameter of the seal. Got it in a little crooked but was able to tap in edges that weren't totally flush with diff flange. So far no leaks. I think one thing that helps ensure you don't damage the seal upon reinstalling CV is supporting outside of CV with wire, cradling it so it's not resting on the seal if it pops out while trying to seat the snap ring. Also makes it easier to drive the CV in using a pry bar and dead blow on the indents.

Welp, it's dry around the CV after driving to and from my hockey game. Fingers crossed. I'm gonna go fishing tomorrow I think, that should be good for at least 150+ miles on it.

Does it leak only after driving? Mine (after the ecgs install) seems to leak on to the garage floor a little after it's been driven. If i clean it and let the truck sit in the garage for days, I don't see anything on the floor. I also wonder if I just overfilled it.

I had my ECGS bushing installed this past week at the same time I was getting my Ray10s installed. The seal was leaking. They got a new seal and it's good. My tacoma suspension is stock (for now need more cash)and I was getting vibrations.

Mine leaked after driving. If its doing that, its driven in too deep. The seal is just on the edge of the machined surface of the axle that it is supposed to seal to.
