Got a quick question, I installed the ECGS bushing in my 2015 tacoma this evening. For those who've done it, how critical is it getting the new bushing flush w/the carrier. I've attached some pics, it looks recessed inside the carrier due to the bevel but it actually sticks out about 1/32" - 1/16". Is it good to go this way, I don't want to risk going to far and having to back it out. My original needle bushing actually sat inside that beveled area.

    Thanks in advance

I had read on the big thread that it was OK for the bushing to stick out 1/16" or so, as long as it's straight in the housing. Looks like your OK.

You're good, Chase from ECGS has said upto 1/4" sticking out would be OK. The bushing is longer than the OEM needle bearing.

Thanks guys, I read in one of those endless pages threads about guys using a 1 5/16" socket reversed with good results. I used a standard race driver set which one puck is either to big (won't fit inside the rubber seal) or to small (allows the bushing to go in further than its supposed to) so I just wanted to be sure. Called ECGS this morning and they concurred it should be fine with a 1/16" or so either way.

yup. mine sticks out at least 1/8th of an inch, I just made sure the CV fully seats without bottoming on the bushing and i was good. Id rather have it sticking out further so the CV is SLIGHTLY less of a lever on the bushing itself.

Either way you are all good.
