    Got an unused ECGS differential bushing for sale. Only removed from the plastic bag to take this picture. Stops the grumble that can come from the driver's side on lifted (and unlisted) trucks. Was intending to install it but then made the fiscally responsible decision to get built diffs with an ARB.

    Ripped off all four mudflaps. Scratches all down both sides 6112’s up front on 3rd notch 5100’s in back with Toytech 1” block Skids & sliders from SOS Concepts I got rid of the 1” block and put on Wheelers 1 1/2” progressive AAL. SPC UCA. Be sure your standing on the drivers side when reading the instructions! I swapped sides so many times that I can swap UCA’s in 15 minutes. I put in the 3/4” spacer to eliminate the Taco Lean, and just got my 4th alignment. Traded the OEM rims for 17” Sport rims and a bora bora 1” spacer. I got my Firestone 285/70/17 MT2’s. Pelfreybilt gas tank skid and hi-lift jack should be here Friday. Looking at bumpers, but I think they will wait for next year. So far I’m happy with my build. I’ve done it all myself, leading to a lot of cussing and frustration, but it’s all mine.
    Do you have the tool?
    I’ll buy the bushing right now.

    I do not have the tool, but yes, it will fit a 2012. It will fit all 8" Tacoma clamshells.

    Can you explain to me how replacing a needle bearing with a bushing works?
    A bearing allows something to spin freely, and a bushing basically just fills a gap. I don’t understand the logic.

    I am since I haven’t seen anyone have any adverse effects, but I also want to know how it works, and why Toyota used a bearing instead of a bushing.

    Bushings can also allow for rotation as well. For instance, the crankshaft and connecting rods in your engine use bushings instead of bearings to allow rotation. The ECGS bushing has a sintered bronze/PTFE layer that interfaces with the CV axle. Both bronze and PTFE are known for their lubricity and are commonly used in bushing applications widely across all industries.

    The why is a mystery, but Toyota has acknowledge there is an issue with their needle bearing design as TSB 0026-15 was issue to address it. Sadly they decided the course of action was to replace the needle bearing which recipients have acknowledge fails just like the original one did. Several users have reported that Toyota has performed the TSB repair with the ECGS bushing substitute instead. If you want to comb through this thread (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...differential-bearing-vibration-thread.152173/) you'll find plenty of people who made the swap and I haven't seen any reported adverse affects that weren't caused by improper installation.
