    Hey guys,

all fixed up, bit of a nightmare though.

When they called to tell me it was done, they said it still had the noise/ vibration and they advised me to have them remove the lift to see if that fixes the problem. I lost my shit told them to forget it, I’m done with truck and getting a new one.

picked it up drove it ..no noise ...wtf same tech/ mechanic that couldn’t hear the obvious noise when I first brought it in.

anyway thanks again everyone for all your support and help, hope to meet you guys at one of your get togethers.

@tacoma16 ...Peter text me when you are at your in-laws and I will drive that way to get you the tool back or I can meet up with Tyler. I might need couple of weeks, my buddy is going replicate the one you guys made.

Hate to say it but a lot of people that work at dealerships are boneheads. Dont get me wrong, there are a lot of good tech’s but Ive had my fair share of wasting money because of dumbass tech’s.
They make more money off trade in’s and sales than they do in the shop.
Take your time with it, its just for loaning out. I can make a new one any time and was planning on making a few more to disperse after that ones been proven to work good.

Let me know what works. I can definitely be the middle man in this. From the 18th to January 3rd I’ll be pretty flexible in terms of availability. Just let me know.

    Hey guys,

Been while hope everyone is doing well,

I have decided I’m trading her in, I’m hearing noises, not trusting this lift

Wanted to get your advise what you think I should get, they are offering me 39000 for my truck, no money off sticker on exact same truck, (upgraded sport with leather) I keep my wheels and tonneau cover, 2.99 finance

but the kicker is I am now really thinking 4Runner off road

    I can’t decide help lol

I feel like trading the truck in based on noises is a sort of "nuclear option" here...

I also think we need some context in regards of the noises that's being made.
what sort of noise is it, where abouts could it be, does it happen at speed, and so on.

what is the lift that you had installed?

If it's from the rear; there is a possibility there are noises as the leaf in the rear might need some more weight to settle it down (for example you have a "HEAVY DUTY" leaf pack that raises your rear end too much but if you add 300lbs, it settles it perfectly)

If it's from the front; depending on how high of a lift, there might be the need for a sway bar drop down bracket to clear the new coilovers.

at the end of the day. that is your decision if you want to trade it out because you're not satisfied.

As good as the 4Runner is, there isn't any tech (there might be some) inside it. it's dead simple and basic.

not sure what the going prices are but I do know the financing on a 4runner is pretty wild. Wanted to test drive one but couldn’t even find one to do so.

as for the noises it’s so hard to say what it could be. If your not comfortable with then by all means. But if it is a diff or something, they are so readily available with the amount of trucks sold you could get a new diff and swap it out. Plus your new truck should have warranty if it does blow up.

    Hey Peter,

remember I got the diff replaced in November, I was about to do that ecgs replacement but they ended up replacing front diff under warranty. Noises same location, vibration in gas peddle. Not as bad of noise ...I just don’t want to keep bringing it back and dealing with it anymore...heck if there going to give me 39000 might as well trade. Just wanted to see what u all thought on new Tacoma, or had any insight on 4 runners

Gotcha. Will be honest I forgot some of the details.
If you want to get out of this one, I would try and work something out with the dealer that they offer something else up however they most likely won’t do much. Have you had an alignment or wheel balancing? Vibration in the pedal that bad suggests that maybe something else is wrong. For reference only the diff spins and the front driveshaft does not. Is there any change when you swap it into 4x4?

I'm looking for the extraction and install tool. A nice member in Quebec offered to send some to me, but I thought I'd ask if a set was floating around in Ontario as well?? (KW area but happy to drive)

Does anybody know of an Ontario shop that does this install? Just curious.

I'm in Ayr (KW area). GTA is doable for sure. I'm looking to get my ECG Bushing and a Eibach Stage 1 lift installed.

    Ah gotcha. I’m in Cambridge.

    https://suminauto.ca/

He is in our group, just tell him the Toyota group sent you. He usually does custom exhaust and welding work so suspension and the ecgs bushing shouldn’t be an issue assuming he has the tool to do the install (I’m sure he could make one too but not sure how that works).

he can also get your alignment and everything done. One stop shop.

Thanks @tacoma16. I'm surprised there isn't someone closer, given the amount of rural based 4x4 shops we have in.south western ontario (backroad4x4, offroad addiction, 4wd parts, and then all the custom fab shops). That said, totally pumped to have a forum recommended shop in the GTA - I will be sure to reach out this week. I have the lift, need the ecg bushing (likely contact overland outfitters in bc for that(, and then the truck (coming end of the month if all sticks to plan). Thanks again bud.

I can’t personally speak for those. I know 4wp in Burlington did install a buddies items but like I said I can’t personally vouch for them.

Ask around in the Ontario bs thread. May be able to get some answers in there.
