    Does anyone know of a good instructional on accessing the ECM in a gen2 tacoma? I've searched the forums, youtube, google, etc and haven't found anything..

    Do you mean physically getting to it?
    If so it's right behind the glovebox on the right, not much to it.

    The bracket it's mounted to is a bit tricky to get out but it's only a couple bolts if I remember correctly.

    It's not hard, I swapped mine when I tuned it.

    Why are you replacing it?

    Issues with the 02 sensor that my mechanic said was because of the ecm

    Hopefully he diagnosed it correctly, these ECMs rarely fail.

    Do you know what the exact code number is your getting?

    Hope so too. P0038. He tested the o2 sensor and all the electrical for continuity

    Update: I have to charge my scanner to make certain, but I installed the new ecm and it seems to have worked! No more CEL.. mechanic wanted 1245 to replace and I spent 300.. so I consider that a win
