    Hi all:

After seeing the TSB thread about pinging a few months ago, I asked my service advisor about getting the flash done, while I was there for an oil change. At the time, he asked if I was experiencing pinging, and I couldn't specifically recall that I had, but I told him I'd pay attention to it. After another month or so of paying attention to it, I made an appt to go back in to have it done. (Also got my brakes done at the same time.) It's been about 3 weeks after the job and I can say that this thing is running pretty bad, on occasion. Throttle response has taken a nosedive. On certain times of day, usually later in the day, the acceleration is seemingly non-existent. It's very sluggish, and doesn't have the pep that it used to. This morning, even, while temps were around 80F, I even heard some faint pinging while it was struggling to accelerate. I'm guessing I need to take it back in, but what should I have them do? Just tell them to find the problem? I'm not very well-versed on this stuff, so please help me formulate the words.

    Thanks!

pull the negative battery cable n let the truck sit for an hour. Then reattach n drive her over the next gas tank more aggressively. Report back.

Snicker all you wish. Some of our bridges and interstate ramps are steep.

But if we assume the dealer didn't take advantage of a situation, and the driver is not a 'brake rider', most of our wear is in the winter time.

From wandering snowbirds getting in our way.

I drive about 25,000mi a year. I'm in real estate(property management). I got 70,000 miles out of the original brakes. Not bad, huh? LoL

I'll try the neg. cable removal tonight.

I got it. Mine was a joke too. Well, other than dodging snowbirds. That's just a winter expectation.

OP, 70k on your OE brakes is great. Hope you get your drivability sorted.
