Intake manifold spacer =/= throttle body spacer. The ims worked.

Actually no, they don't equal each other. They effect two different aspects of the intake. TB spacer for our specific style intake, is for a funneling/vortex effect. Can't work out our intake because there is a plane down the inside of it which will negate any vortex effect.

Manifold spacer is specifically to change runner length. Long runners are for torque, and short runners are for HP.

The intake manifold spacers we sell add 19hp at 6400rpm. They effectively move the power band to the left on the graph which gives you more power under the curve ;)

How would a Manifold spacer work in a boosted application?

Good info but =/= literally means "Does not equal" hence I didn't use a normal "=" just like a throttle body does not equal an intake manifold.

    :)

Lengthening the intake runners changes the volumetric efficiency of the engine regardless of being boosted or not. Turbo motors LOVE long runners, as do torque junkies like me!

The TRD s/c is very close to the hood. You'd need to modify the hood if a spacer of the current thickness was installed. As well as most likely need a longer belt, depending on how much slack is in the tensioner. Not saying it isn't possible though. Just would need more checking into. A lot was done when I had the first one made. It has been so long since that time, that I have forgotten some of the specifics.

Also, that 1st intake manifold spacer, is still currently used on my engine, will the turbo setup. :)

Just for reference and conversation, I've been running a manifold spacer on my 1st gen with the grey s/c for years.
