I have driven Yarises that have eco boost, which I think it is called. From what I have read, the eco system shuts down one side of the fuel injectors which limits the amount of fuel, therefore improving gas mileage.

Has anyone tried to convert their 5VZ FE engine to eco boost? I am curious

    It's called "cylinder deactivation"

It requires engineering from the ground up for the engine to fire properly with half cylinders.

The 5VZ is so old it fires the spark plugs on every 2nd stroke instead of 4th "waste stroke"

Basically, its impossible on the 3.4, best you can do is maintain the truck and drive it easy.

That's the opposite of boost and eco boost is a turbo in a Ford engine. No, I will never try this in my 5vz as it will fall on it's ass and die.
