I bought a 2009 TRD off road pre runner and had the dealer level the truck with Bilstein 5100's as part of the deal. Tires are 245 and i will eventually change to 265 when these wear out - Best i can calculate that will raise the whole truck half of 1.18 (difference between 245 and 265 from the calculator on this site). Correct?

i'd like to raise the truck about 1 inch more in addition to that ultimately gained by the tires. I am 95% road driving on highway and am mainly wantthe looks and doing the mod with minimal expense. (i pamper the truck anytime offroad which is rare)

    What are my options?
Can i use spacers on front coupled with the bilsteins i have? and then do AAL in back?

Anyone approached same situation? i have read ALOT on the forum but about an hour ago hit overload.
if you'd rather, please email responses to jmgreen@una.edu
i get to the forum usually weekly but i check email daily.
    thanks in advance

What clip setting did the dealer set the 5100’s at?

You’ve got a few options: thin spacer above strut assembly (1/4” spacer will give you 1/2” lift great for drivers side to offset lean), go 1 clip setting higher on the shock or buy a ome coil spring that’ll give you the lift you want. Headstrong offroad has a great reputation on this site. They’ll get you what you need. I’d definitely recommend something for drivers side to offset lean though. Unless you plan to do UCAs try not to go much more than 2.5” of lift or you’ll start running into issues getting a good alignment. For the back, I wouldn’t do anything less that a 3 leaf aal. The factory leafs suck even if they’re the recall leafs and the 3 aal will give the factory leafs more support.

Changing the tires will net you roughly 1/2" of clearance and you don't need to lift the truck to make the tires fit. Lifting the sheet metal does not do anything to increase your ground clearance, it just makes room for bigger tires which are the only way to improve ground clearance. The cheapest thing to do is nothing.

i appreciate all the replies. The bilsteins are maxed i think. I DO want to keep it level - how do i know what size spacer for front and AAL for rear? if a 1/4 inch spacer gives 1/2 inch lift...…
again, i'm a rookie so i appreciate the patience. any replies appreciated.

How much total lift in the front so you want. Most of the trucks have 1”-1.5” of rake. So if you want the truck level. Ie. You go with 2”’in the front you’ll .5 “-1” in the rear to keep the truck level.
