YA!! it blows alright. Still planning on doing my upgrades, but will take a little longer to get done. Plus I have a few things to sell (high end collector stuff) that is if the mod bug bites hard enough I can bite the bullet.

I have been doing the mods above, easy and most of them low cost. Look for the best deals, and ask friends for help.

I can certainly afford to buy stuff for the truck - but I don't need stuff for the truck.

When your investments are loosing gobs & gobs and your 401K is loosing lbss also -it's hard to spend money on anything other than what you need these days.

Probably should move this to off topic, but for the record I am still planning custom skidplates, brake line upgrade, spindle gussets, and sway bar links.

Yep the economy sucks, but it will get much worse before it starts to get better. I don't buy anything for my truck, I just put gas in the bitch.

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
I'm kind of a cheap ass and so is my Wife thus the bad economy means we pretty much live the same as we always have. The only "mods" I've done to my truck over the years have been a chrome exhaust tip, a few sets of plastic hub caps, and now seat covers but only because they had camouflage sets at the local parts store marked 75% off ( $10!).

BUt... I am changing a few things. Mainly in that we don't eat out as much, which was rare to start with. I'm also changing the clutch myself, which saves me $600 over having it done by someone else. I'm also hanging on to my old truck longer. Its 13 years old now, and I bet I could get another 4-5 years out of it. I have friends who seem to buy new cars/trucks every few years. Then they bitch that they never have any money.

For my wife and I,its more important that we save up enough to buy a house at this time. After we have the house, then I might consider getting a nicer truck.

It's our duty as Americans to pull together and make the USA great again. For the good of the country (and the legacy of the current administration) we should all go out and buy superchargers, lift kits and high end custom performance parts.

On the other hand my duty to my family and myself has always kept me frugal where it comes to my ride. If you look at my mod list you'll just see basic functional improvements.

My spending habits for the truck or any other toys in my life have not changed. I'm still conservative on some things and wastefull on others. Behaviour steady regardless of economy.

    RIP Lucy.
    She's gone but not forgotten.
spend three months unemployed and see how many toys you buy.

i've kept busy on her with freebie work, stuff like finishing off the half empty paint cans in the garage, mounting my radar detector where it won't rattle and i can reach it, detailing the interior and under the hood...
