I know it's been said hundreds of times before - but I took my truck on it's first (for me, wife has made the trip before but she doesn't use cruise control) longer trip from south of Houston to Shreveport. Once you get up northeast of Houston there are some very slight rolling hills. Well the damn cruise control drove me nuts - even downshifting one time that popped the RPM to over 5K! So, on the way back I tried turning on ECT. DAMN! What a different experience!

I need to try that. It’s the same in Tallahassee, rolling hills in both directions on I-10. It is aggravating trying to use cruise especially if you’re carrying anything. I guess that’s what ECT was designed for. Not just the mountains!

I use CC whenever I can. I wish everyone did. It prevents all the tailgating and leapfrog BS because most drivers can’t drive a steady speed with their foot. I use ECT at 60 and below, and turn it off above that. No problems in the hills of Western NC. Heading up a hill, just swing it over to S 4 and leave the cruise ON!
