So my fuse cover arrived today. I just have to say that I have no idea why this simple cover makes me smile. I mean the mod itself was cool enough but didn't really see it. But everytime I look at this cover it cracks me up. It has the appearance of like an 80's video game. Haha. Meso I would like to see more cosmetically appealing stuff from you for my truck. Like maybe some under the hood stuff or something. Or maybe like some cool switches. 20171115_185144.jpg 20171115_072331.jpg

    Okay,
So I tested this out and I figured out why.
When you power the truck on with 1 click to ACC.(if tapped off the CIG lightercircuit) it gives power to the ECT MOD to do it's thing. And it does. The only problem is, power isn't on to the rest of the truck(gauges, other ignition stuff, etc) for the ECU to see this command.
So you go to 2nd Button/Start and it doesn't kick on. That's because the ECT mod already did the bypass when it had power the first time.
Fix? Switch the power lead of the ECT MOD to a INGITON only power(not ACC). Then You can keep the truck in ACC/1 click mode and not worry about it deactivating.
    If that makes sense?
I always hop in and start the truck full press so I never caught that.
Haha 80's video game FTW. And I am also working on something for under the hood. :D
    Throwback.

FYI anyone that has more than 6 wires coming out, or in an awkward position..the walls are thin and Can easily be modified with a slot from a dremel or razor blade.

Any suggestion as to which specific fuse or wire to tap in to? Sometimes I like shutting ignition off with transmission in neutral so it goes to ACC mode directly and music isn't interrupted.

What I saw was it didn't just deactivate it actually disabled like you hold the button for 5 seconds to permanent turn off. Maybe was a fluke.

Edit, that may be what you're describing and my reading comprehension sucks.

Not a fluke. I thought my module was defective at first.so mesojdm quickly sent a replacement. But it did it again with the new one.

I am going to describe the workings of this module the best I can, maybe it will further explain how it activates/deactivates.

The factory ECT button has 2 wires going to it that control ON/OFF. First is a 12v coming from the ECU, the other wire is a ground.
From the factory, When you press the ECT button it connects wire #1(12V ECU) to Wire #2(Ground), thus "shorting it out" in which the ECU now sees "0 volts", and turns on or off the ECT light.

This is the main reason why I have to tap the ECT MOD power elsewhere, because the 12V on the button drops to 0 and is not a reliable and steady power source!

    Now you know how the stock works, here is how my ECT mod senses to activate/deactivate;

When power is applied (single lead power wire) on the mod box...the arduino automatically starts looking at wire #1(mentioned earlier)for either 12v or 0v. It is continuously looking, and when it sees "0v" for more than 5 seconds (i.e holding the button) it turns itself off.

What is happening in @Deucer01 case, when he puts the vehicle into neutral and powers the truck off, (but leaving the accessory mode on)it is keeping power to all the accessories(radio, etc) and ALSO The mod box. The problem is, wire #1(12v from ECU) also shuts off with the truck now showing 0 volts. So with the Aurdino still being powered in ACC mode and looking for either 12v or 0v. It sees 0 and deactivates.

The only way around this would be to power the ECT mod box off a different circuit that only turns on when the truck is started. Or, totally eliminate the "hold button down to activate/deactivate" from the code so there could be no chance of it unintentionally turning off.

Thanks for the explanation @mesojdm. Do you know of an ignition on only power we can tap in to?
