    So instead of splicing you cut the original cable and crimp it with the DIY cable into the plug? Sorry for being dense. I'm 12 hr jet-lagged maybe I need to look at this in the morning.

    LOL, definitely re-look. It is a female and male connector. It allows you to “build your own” connections between the factory harness and the button.

    no..the unit you make you attach the connectors he is offering to each end of what you made. then those connector ends you attached will simple plug into, one end to the ECT switch the other connector to the connector that you pulled off the back on the ECT switch. hope i explained it ok. i ran the power to the cig lighter with a crimp connector, i mean you are right there why fool around runing wire down to the fuse box.

    so you will be using only 2 wires out of the 4 wires that connect to the ECT button yet the 4 wires need to pass thru so now i am confused now that you got me thinking about it! think a wiring diagram is in order here. also need to make sure the correct wires are in the correct pin positions.

    I had the original DIY diagram figured out and now you all throw a wrench in it by adding this adapter. :) Yeah a diagram would be great.

    i would assume the 2 wires that are not tapped into you just pass thru and the other 2 are connected as shown on DIY diagram. issue is making sure the wires are in the correct pin position on the pins you are adding. .
