I cannot believe the difference in power and acceleration with the Ect button on especially with 93 octane. It’s unreal how much pull this truck has once it’s revved up with ect on. Anyone else feel same way??

Factory tune. Works fine. However, it was not designed to separate your money from you like the other tunes.

ECT is good, but the main problem is that the 4th to 5th gear shift happens at over 60 mph, which kind of sucks in city driving. I prefer to just use S4 or S5 and step on the gas a little harder.

ECT button does nothing except change the shift points. 93 octane does nothing except give you a placebo effect.

Use what the operators manual says to use for fuel, and use the ECT if you need a bit more acceleration by having the shifts come in at a higher RPM

King 2.5’s with adjusters from accutune front and rear, 88 rotors rear add a leaf, Camburg X-joint UCA’s, Factory style trd pro 16” wheels with 0 offset, 285/75/16 KO2’s, pro grille, Front bumper viper cut, trd front skid plate, full RCI under skid plates, Cali raised trail sliders, exhaust cut dump, KDMax 10.0 tune
I think you’re the only one. Plus, you need an actual ecu tune that’s designed to run on higher octane gas for anything to be noticeable. The 3.5 engine is designed to run on 87

I think one of the local tune guys on the forum would know.
I don’t think the ECT button has any affect on octane.
The ECU will compensate for octane whether the ECT button is on or off.

@JustDSM or @tonered will likely know the answer.
I am not here to argue. I am here to learn and get the correct answer.

OVTune has stated several times that the 3.5 pulls timing like crazy on regular gas. That would elude to it pulling timing less with premium as its less likely to knock/predetonate.

It just changes the shift points. The engine doesn't care if the tank is full of 87, 93, or sawdust.

    No doubt.
Generally the more you can advance timing, the more power you will see.
    To a point…..
