I don't have any dyno data to back this up, but I feel like a tank full of sawdust would have a noticeable drop in throttle responsiveness.

Sawdust and wood chips be the norm with this set-up. Thankfully we don’t get that crazy because our Tacos wouldn’t hang like two strokers can.

AND!!!!!! You moderators and #1….you bastards showed up in a dream last night and got me all scared and sad. Ahhaaaaa!!!! You know how dreams are, taking weird turns and shit, so all of a sudden, the dream turns to a dark screen DOMINATED by an animated wicked looking red chile pepper that blew fucking fire onto my TW account!!!!! I knew that meant I was terminated:facepalm:You know dreams man, damn real sometimes and…well…Ima gonna take it as an omen and watch my mouth from now on:rasta: (LOL!!!!!!!)

Okay, Friday post over, alls I know is that the ECT button is cool. In city driving, a SLIGHT throttle input launches and gets the Taco cruising nicely. Feels so cool. And from a stop, when I need some grunt, I keep it in ECT mode and do the Topanga Launch. Highways are non ECT and S mode is selected if driving the mountain ranges. No hunting, I do the shifts and makes for some clean cool driving in The Tacon.

My four-cylinder in ECT has a more aggressive throttle response and also holds gears longer and into higher RPMs, which just means that it howls like a retarded husky.

i have been a believer in this for years. i installed the "On at start up" mod years ago, best mod i have done.
when at a stop and turning right on to a highway without ECT the truck can't get out of it's own way.
others here will say it does almost nothing.

No doubt in our lifetime those battery powered saws will get some extreme torque output.

We took a drive up to Los Padres yesterday and I started to think. There is A LOT of wood on the ground for the taking. I’m going to get a firewood permit and take my milling equipment and mill some table tops up there.

Fast is relevant. I went from a 1999 Tacoma SR5 MT 4cyl. to a 2023 Tacoma SR5 w the 3.5. To me, this new truck is like greased lightning. It hauls ass! Certainly faster than my 1954 Chevy 1 ton pickup w the MT/granny gear.

The third gen Tacoma 3.5 is plenty fast enough , you just need to put your foot in it a little . Compared to 80,s/ early 90,s stuff , it’s a rocket . Plenty of 8 cylinder cars then would get crushed by this 3.5 easily
