Finally figured out what this does. Toyota tossed it in there for when one of our poorly designed calipers hang up. You can manage to make it home if you beat the crap out of it. :annoyed:Shift point is higher.... ehhhhh

One of my calipers locked up once, in early 2018; Didn't realize this had happened and it totally evaporated the brake pad on that side!

It just made this intermittent squeaking sound, and the braking performance was not effected at all; My truck had just passed PA State Inspection with flying colors in October 2017, and my front brakes were at 50% life at the time (in October), so I was not expecting to have to replace them until June 2018 or so.

My truck passed VA inspection but a big pothole and bad luck would crack the frame:eek:

In Virginia, I've heard that if your vehicle has foglights and they don't work, it's an automatic fail; I think that's absolute bullshit because my truck doesn't even have foglights (yet) and I consider them to be a luxury item that isn't needed for safe operation of a vehicle.

The ECT button is meant for merging and when you need extra acceleration heft. Is it significant? Probably not that much for merging and passing. It’s fun though

No sir. It’s living on borrowed time. Might buy a new truck if I get this new job.
