hey guys, I have read a couple threads about the ECT Power button but did not find the answers I was looking for. Does using ECT decrease your gas mileage? I have heard mix responses concerning that. Does it put more wear and tear on your engine? And lastly, can you turn it on and off while driving or do you need to come to a complete stop to allow your transmission to reset? Thank you

    Welcome to TW.

yeah its a mixed bag. if you use ECT when you are loaded and going through hills, you might get better millage since you aren't swifting between gears all the time.
Wear and tear... not as much as towing, stomping or ORing.

yeah trigering on the fly is availiable and you do feel the difference almost instantly if you're on the gas.

    None as of yet
yes. its keeping the engine in a lower gear so higher revs so burning more fuel.

no. its a transmission setting and even then its just shift points

yes. push anytime, ill hit it when im about to hit a large grade or want to pass while towing my boat then switch it off when im on a flat area for better mileage.

I’ve been driving with ECT on 95% of the time the past 3 weeks, I’m actually getting the better mpgs with the ECT on and the drive feels much much better, it’s more responsive.
Personally I let the transmission get a bit warm before I engage it in the mornings otherwise i feel a bit of harshness between shifts.
