I raised an eyebrow when the service manager mentioned this was the 3rd Trans Update. I told him that I hadn't heard there was another revision. He "semi-face palmed" and said "Yea and I think there will probably be a 4th"

You think you're gonna keep the taco long enough for the 4th revision? 3rd one for it's second year in production...doesn't look good so far.

Yeah I think i'll keep it for a couple more years. Just until my wife is pregnant again at least...because then I'll have rationale to go back to a full size. The Tacoma will be too tight for two kiddos in the back. Unless Toyota makes some nice revisions to the Tundra, I think I'll be going back to the 6.2L GMC or Silverado. My last one gave me zero issues and dealer service here is great...especially since my buddy owns a GM Dealership :D.

So why didn't you get one of the twins to start with?

Oh he tried to sell me on one. Offered me one to take home for a week. Didn't care for the front end and low approach angle. Wanted to go back to Toyota since I had such good luck with my old Tacoma.

My normal service adviser wasn't in today so the one working with me didn't bother to hook it up and check for a new version but said they weren't aware of any new updates. (surprise!)

In a couple of years if I trade in my Tacoma. I will be looking at the Tundra, if Toyota actually decides to redesign it.

They probably saw you post in the OVTuned thread and were trying to snoop around on your ECU to see if you'd flashed it so they can deny warranty and stop working on your Truck.

It's nice to try and light up those front drive puller tires and still get 28+ MPG isn't it? :bananadance::bananadance:
