Hey... first-hand experiences tend to leave the most lasting impressions. I had a great experience with my GMC. Not so great with my latest Tacoma. I have a lot of buddies who drive old Chevy's, Fords, they seem to be running and holding up very well. I don't think their (other manufacturer) issues are really leaps and bounds worse than Toyota is having right now on the Tacomas.

If I'm in the market for another Toyota it won't be a Tacoma...but a 4Runner? Camry? Corolla? Maybe even a Tundra? Sure!

Well, I for one would like to extend a warm thank you to Toyota for ensuring that we'll all get at least another year of smitty posts out of this experience.

I am surprised they haven't just given him keys to a new one and make his their company truck to run parts or shuttle. It sure would have been easier.

Picked up truck. They were able to get the ECU reset and Then they found that it was already updated with the latest software so there was no new update beyond what we already have

I'm guessing you don't have the reflash sticker.

It always drives better after the ECU is flashed. In 3 to 5k miles it'll go back to shit. Also check this out...lol

That's what it was when I picked it up from them. I have no clue. Usually they set them at about 35 or 36

They probably tried flashing the ecu without running an external power source to keep vehicle main battery above 11 volts for reflash.

Now with that loaner vehicle if it isn't too late go buy a dry nitrous kit and NOS the heck out no the car. Recommend max 15sec @ a time.
