I cleaned my battery posts, which reset the ECU. It's been a week now, and sometimes the idle is at 500 rpm and a little rough. I've driven roughly 250 miles. Should the ECU be done mapping my driving habits, or is it a slow learner like me? ;)

On a related note, the cruise control didn't learn a damned thing. 70 mph on a straight road with a rise of maybe 50 feet in a mile, and it will downshift to 2nd, 5k rpm. That doesn't do much for mpg. I got 18.6 on a 186 mile trip, mostly at 65-70.

    2010 2.7 auto.

My cruise sucks ass. 2.7 can't hang. I don't use it unless it's flat, and I turn it off for any kind of sustained grade, even an overpass.

Ok I guess just wait for the ECU to wise up, and live with the CC. I did start shifting into 3rd manually at the start of a hill and most of the time the rpm stayed at 3200 at 70 mph. I didn't always remember to shift back to 4th at the top though.

Update... took the same trip today and the CC decided to act like a normal CC should. There was only 1 time when it downshifted to hit 4k. The rest of the time it downshifted out of torque converter lockup and 1 gear lower (I think) to 3200 rpm. I haven't used CC since August, maybe it just needed rest, maybe it felt lonely, or maybe it noticed me walking around the truck with a BMFH swearing at it... I dunno.

I will try the CC on my local trips where it used to wig out, and report back.
