Haven’t gotten around to posting til now, I was able to get Rudy Luther to do mine last weekend too. They didn’t want to hook it up at my 5k service in August, when I went in for my 10k I had to make a special appointment to come back (the scheduler didn’t listen when I asked to have it checked and didn’t reserve enough time). The service writer took a little convincing, but they hooked it up and ran the update under 58-18. After it was done I showed the writer where in the paperwork the MT cals were, hopefully that helps somebody else out. I’d say they should be green on the map at this point, unless anybody else has been denied?

My experience with the update has been solidly OK. Not life-changing, but I don’t have to think about shifting as much which is awesome. Now my sights are on that accumulator...

I see someone tagged Downeast Toyota in Maine on the map as a no go. I'm heading there this week to get my inspection done on new truck bought out of state Monday. I know a few of the guys there, and will push to get it done. They dealt with me once when I had my AT and the issues I was having trying to get the TSB for the shifting, and realized, being a travel welder, I'm a natural asshole and will fight till I get it. Hopefully whoever tagged that, I'll do an update on here whether I can get them to change their tone. *straps on boxing gloves and mouth guard*

Definitely will. I'll hit you up when it's done. If you saw the deal I got on the 2018 MT, you'd realize how stubborn I am. :D

I took my truck for its 20k and they said there isn’t a tsb for the manual. I even talked to the service manager.

There clearly is. The first TSB theybcould form an argument over (although it has our ECU code), but the other one (the newest one) is for the manual for sure.

I guess i should try another dealer? Do you think the tech will apply it even if the work order doesn't list it?

I would try a different one if you can. Also, the newest one is for our trucks so it’s more about you talking about the symptoms and they update it based off of the issues the truck is having.

Okay. Thanks. I just asked about the TSB update. Didn't mention symptoms. I was hoping they would do it without having some 16 year old porter drive it around for 30 miles looking for an issue then telling me they cant find a problem. Been there before with some GM vehicles.

The printed TSB even tells you what symptoms it applies to for reference. Let us know and best of luck man!

Which TSB and for what reason? Did you happen to show them copies of both and did they hook up TechStream?

I've posted in this thread before but my 2017 3rd gen manual has a major stumble around 1800rpm but I've found it completely disappears after an ECU reset (disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes).

But then about a week goes by and it starts again, and slowly gets worse as time goes on.

What is the general consensus at this point, is it worth the hassle at the dealership to get this software update? It's absolutely destroying the pleasure of driving the truck. I've taken to an ECU reset once a week to keep it at bay.

If you are noticing it, then the update is worth it, IMHO. The stumbles / surges will not go completely away after the update. For me, they are less than half of what they previously were. I also got a very consistent throttle response, which was a very significant improvement.
