Updated. Does it work? Would it be better in another spot in the 1st Post?

I'd bold the line about scroll down for instructions. I'd also hyperlink it to the post i just made. If there's enough references then hopefully people won't miss it lol

and put installation instructions in big print right before it

@tonered do we need v12 for anything? maybe delete that from the first post so no one is trying to use the old version (which is also more of a pain to setup)

There has been zero action there as far as I know.

    I'll cut it out.

    Thanks!

Sorry to say -- but not really -- I traded in the 2018 Tacoma TRD Sport.. 3 Dealers and 5 attempts to get the ECU updated - No Joy.. The last dealer said - if there are no engine codes we aren't updating it.. I told him that is interesting -- There was no check engine lights in the past when the air bags went off killing people either..

The dealer I purchased it at tried to get me into a Tacoma Limited with the Automatic - because it was cheaper than the Sport fully equipped like my 2018 Tacoma Sport was pushing 44-45K.. The pricing went up HUGE !! at least 4-6K in less than 2 years without any great improvements.

I went back to a Nissan Pathfinder SL Rock Creek Edition. I already have a trailer for the real pickup truck needs.. The Pathfinder can tow 6K lbs, tows way better than the Tacoma, more power, way better acceleration, better gas mileage, better sound system, better ride, better handling, smoother ride, much less body roll, 100% better back seat comfort. Towing with the Tacoma - 16mpg - highway.. Same load on the Pathfinder 23-24.. plus I don't have to worry about passing in the pathfinder.. in the Tacoma I really needed to plan ahead for passing - drop to 4th and stand on it to get it to go..

Will I miss the Tacoma - Yes - it was fun. I will get another one if they fix several critical things - Like better back seat comfort/space, better power without hesitation/surging, better gas mileage, and better suspension ! I don't want the 14mpg Tundra.. nor the 55+K price.. I shouldn't have to spend over $1,000 to reprogram the computer to get it to run right, and put real shocks on it. Hitachi makes TV's not shocks !

Toyota - still doesn't have a long term fix for the failing fuel pumps 5 months after the recall was sent out.. It's a fuel pump - not a fusion generator.

The Pathfinder is averaging over 28mpg going back and forth to work - doing the back roads yesterday got 30.3.

I have dirt bikes for going off road..

Toyota - I expected more out of you - you don't have the basics working anymore and quality has dropped ! No more leather seats - all being changed to pleather.. My co-worker bought a 2020 Camry SE - he absolutely hates it and is in process of dumping it.

Some things you say are true (though exaggerated), some could be easy refuted. But you seem to have made your decision and are looking for validation. Enjoy your Pathfinder.

Do you have an Automatic of Manual Tacoma ? Plus I got tired of listening to my kids complain about the back seat being uncomfortable..

How many kids and how old? I have 3 all under 7. Trying to decide what to do. This would give me some ammo to approach wife with.
Im considering Ram 1500 limited though

i did my best to shoehorn 3 kid seats in the back and it didn't work, ages 2,3,8. now i keep one or two in the back only and don't use the truck at all for the fam unless it's 3 or 4 of us. 3 row SUV was our answer.

MT as long as I they let me. Don't have anything against automatics, but I'll always take a manual if I have the option.

We have 2 kids, ages 8 and 10. Both girls and pretty small, so they really haven't complained. The other car is a Corolla, so they are used to it. Timing is good, they are both out of car seats now and just use boosters. I wish they'd get out of the boosters! But they are supposed to be 80lbs before they can be and neither are even close. Going to have their own license to drive before they get out of them the way they are going.

It is far from the main one, but one of the many reasons we stopped at 2 kids is I didn't want to have to be beholden to a 3 row SUV or a minivan.

I can relate. My wife has 17 sienna as a kid hauler, but sometimes its nice to take a truck on a road trip knowing there will be some mild off-roading involved. Just kinda regretting tacoma all around. Drivetrain sucks and when entire family rides, were all crammed in there like sardines.

This is beautiful. Do I need to be online to upgrade TSB? What is the CUW file and where is that located?
